Georgia Southern announces graduates for Fall 2016 Commencement Ceremony
The 25th annual Georgia Southern Fall 2016 Commencement Ceremony represented a momentous day as approximately 1,700 of Georgia's best and brightest undergraduate and graduate students received degrees from the University's eight colleges. Approximately 400 graduate degrees were conferred, while around 1,300 undergraduate students received degrees.

Students earn merit scholarships at Fort Lewis College
Several area residents received merit scholarships to attend Fort Lewis College for the Fall 2014 semester. These merit scholarships are renewable for up to 120 credits if criteria are met. Fort Lewis College also offers several other scholarships, including grants, the Finish in Four! Scholarship, FLC Foundation scholarships, alumni scholarships, departmental scholarships, Native American scholarships, and outside scholarships.

Local residents spending spring break from Clemson University helping others
Instead of spending spring break on a beach somewhere, local residents are helping others as through Clemson University's Alternative Break Program.
The Alternative Break Program is organizing two trips for spring break this year. One group is travel to Pensacola, Fla., to work with Community Collaborations International on ecological restoration projects in areas that were affected by the 2010 Gulf Coast oil disaster. A second group will go to Chavies, Ky., to work with the Appalachia Service Project restoring homes in underprivileged communities.
